| Reasons to be GLAD your child has a Peanut Allergy! Yes - there are some! 1. People with peanut allergies or any severe food allergy cannot serve in the military or draft. Sorry for all you military families out there, but I have enough to worry about with my son - I don't him need that too!!! :) 2. Your the scary mom or dad - armed with a shot at all times!! 3. You usually get personally greeted by the restaurant manager after you inform your waiter that your child has a peanut allergy. 4. Every teacher, school nurse, principal, and aide knows who your child is! 5. I don't know about you all, but I learned to cook from scratch. NEVER had done that before! I went from horrible cook to (well somewhat) okay cook! 6. No candy bars in the house to eat and gain weight. On the other hand, what can we blame when we do?!! 7. Our kids can't eat carrot cake. But that is an excuse to make our own cream cheese frosting and just eat that - without the cake! Accept it, the only reason we ever ate carrot cake anyway was for the cream cheese frosting! 8. If you take your child out trick or treating and decline the Reeses ( I won't even allow them in his bag) - your child sometimes get $$ instead. We aimed for a $20 bill last Halloween - but got just $1 bills! 9. Just blame the restaurant if you want to get out of going to dinner with friends. Say its not peanut safe. 10. Perfect reason to decline really bad food that people try to give you when you leave a party. |
